The Hair Wash Vs Exercise Dilemma
When your sanity-saver is exercise, every day you decide whether or not to wash your hair. Because, at the end of the day, who honestly likes to dry their hair? Not me. As a triathlete, mother & stylist, I have come up with some invaluable hair hacks. Enjoy!
1. Use a shower cap! On days where you sweat minimally, skip the wash. The sweat will dry and I won't tell anyone.
2. Take shower cap off & apply OLAPLEX Bonding Oil to mids & ends to re-activate previous style & tame frizz. Also acts as a heat-protectant, so you can do a quick hot tool refresh.
3. If it's 3rd day hair, wear up with a Satin Scrunchie or Spiral Hair Tie. Matte Finish Neutral Claw Clips are also a great option. All on-trend, classy & help prevent breakage. Furthermore, wearing these during your workout leaves minimal creases on the hair.
4. Invest in yourself and gift yourself time with the Classic Cezanne Keratin Treatment (For every hair colour & type!). Dry time will be cut in half, heat styling will hold longer, & hair will be smoother. Lasts 6 months & WILL change your life, guaranteed. Book here!
5. Wear this amazing visor for outdoor workouts, not only to protect skin, but to keep hair (& therefore style) in place & absorb sweat.
6. Because we are optimally only washing every few days, always shampoo twice. Use ELEVEN Deep Clean Shampoo 1x/wk for a clean slate.
7. Use ELEVEN Rinse Out Repair Treatment 1x/wk to keep hair strong.
8. If you have 2 super sweaty sessions in one day or back-to-back days, doing a diffuse blow dry & working with your natural texture saves both time and the integrity of your hair. Apply Kevin Murphy Curl Cream to towel-dried hair. Tutorial HERE!
9. Save hair wash day for the your most intense weekly session. Hot tool style (high heat setting) afterwards and schedule your less intense sessions the following 2 days. The style should survive and gift you time. Make sure to set hair with Kevin Murphy Spray Flex.
10. Booking your lightening service at least every 3 months will help hair soak up excess oil. Booking a cut at least every 3 months will help hair hold style.
Here's to never having to sacrifice endorphins to style, and vice versa. Cheers to strong, happy, beautiful humans.
